Sam Chaffee

Vice President

Sam Chaffee is a Vice President within the Investment Banking practice at Houlihan Capital and serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. He manages day-to-day engagement execution, drives business development initiatives, and oversees the firm’s regulatory compliance. His expertise spans a range of engagements and transaction types, including strategic mergers and acquisitions, buyouts, and corporate financial consulting on both the buy- and sell-side. 

Mr. Chaffee started his Investment Banking career as an Intern at KeyBanc Capital Markets, supporting the M&A team by preparing valuation models and client pitch materials for live transactions. Earlier in his career, Mr. Chaffee interned at Breakthrough Schools and Symphony Financial Services. 

A summa cum laude graduate of Case Western Reserve University, Mr. Chaffee holds a Master of Finance, a BS in Finance, and a BA in Music. As a registered member of FINRA, Mr. Chaffee currently holds Series 24, Series 27, Series 63, and Series 79 licenses.  Mr. Chaffee is also a Level III candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. 

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Mr. Chaffee serves on the Board of Directors of two nonprofit organizations: Piano Cleveland and The Chaffee Family Foundation.
